Note on the detail here the mute, and the beautiful pickguard, which is engraved with a huge crown and the legend "emperador" in gold letters.

The binding is cool, white with little black points everywhere from the body to the neck.

Two PAF-like pickups, 2 tone controls, 2 volume controls and that's all. I love it!

Bought to a guy in Ardèche.

The Emperador Bass page.

I can see Paul Samwell-Smith of the Yardbirds here! Nice looking, don't you think? Noel Redding agrees, for sure.

This is a "made in Japan" bass, and I can't say how old it is. If someone has any info...The location where you put your right hand to rest is on the treble side, which seems a little unusual. The 22-cases neck, with gibson-like inlays, is quite thin and fast; overall very playable. But the machine-heads are poor, although they stay in tune.. The rest is of good quality. The pickups are good although not as percussive as my electrotone bass. There is a string mute (damper?), which is cool to do bluesy lines.
