Here is a detail about some of the features this amp provides. The tremolo works with the "Normal" channel (you should read tremolo and Reverb under the switches) and the Reverb is switchable between the "Normal" and the "Brilliant" channels.

The logo is not original. I've bought this one, which is the American (Thomas) style one, from North Coast Music. I had to made some arrangements to put it here.

Detail on the "Brilliant" channel.

This Defiant is a JMI amplifier. When I bought it, there was another one, complete with its stand and footswitch, but it wasn't a JMI and I had't enough money to buy it. So I took the trashed one.

The Mid Boost switch controls a three-way selector.

Luckily, this amp is in perfect working order (except I had to find a footswitch).

Here is a back view. I don't have the backpanel.

Here are the voltage selector, the mains switch, the fuse hole, the mains cord, the standby switch and the output switch.(15 Ohms).

You can see two transistors on the left and on the right, mount on big heat dissipators.

Here is a JMI Solid State amp I believe to be a Defiant. I bought it absolutely thrashed, with no logos, no backpanel, no footswitch; but all electronics were good and the sound was excellent...I'm sorry for the poor quality of the pics. I once looked inside it and forgot to put it back in place. Some writings are hidden so...

Here is a top view of the Defiant.

On the left, there is the Normal channel, which has a TopBoost switch (Treble Boost).

On the right is the Brilliant one, provided with the M.R.B. switch.

Each channel has two inputs, with variable gain. Volume, Bass and Treble switches.

I'm not sure the vent holes are all originals. I know the Conqueror only had two vents holes.

Here are the three-way selector switch, the footswitch input and the distortion feature which only works with the Brilliant Channel. This Distortion (Fuzz) is really excellent and, together with the M.R.B. feature, provides many, many great tones.

You can hear such combination on the Beatles "Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" album, especially on the track " ".

I love this amp! I don't use it when I have to play at a friend's house, but always when I play or record at home. It truly has a voice of its own. I wish I had a backpanel...and a footswitch...and a cabinet...and the good logos...
